The Benefits of Reiki

Reiki healing is a natural therapy that gently balances life energies and brings health and well-being to the recipient.

Reiki works on different levels the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual enhancing everything in life. Reiki is not only one of the oldest healing systems in use; it is also one of the most versatile. This ancient Japanese method of healing uses energy to balance and heal the body, mind and the spirit. 

Reiki can improve physical health, emotional well-being, stress and anxiety reduction and mental clarity. 

It is often used as a complementary therapy in over 800 hospitals today. It enhances the health care the patient receives in both in the hospital and from outpatient health care providers. Reiki has not only helped patients with physical ailments but also helped those with minor psychological problems as well.

One of the most valuable Reiki healing health benefits is stress reduction and relaxation, which triggers the body’s natural healing abilities (immune system), aids in better sleep and improves and maintains health. Reiki balances the mind and emotions and can bring about a calmer and more peaceful state of being, which makes it easier to cope with everyday stress.

On a mental level it enhances learning, memory and mental clarity. 

On a emotional level Reiki can also strengthen and heal personal relationships. Because Reiki enhances your capability to love, it can open you up to the people around you and help your relationships grow. 

On the physical level, Reiki helps to relieve pain from migraine, arthritis, sciatica ~ just to name a few. Reiki speeds up recovery from surgery or long-term illness. As it helps in adjusting to medicine/treatment, it also tends to reduce side-effects. For example, Chemo-therapy patients who received Reiki noticed a marked decrease in side effects from treatment.

On a spiritual level it can be valuable tool in the quest for growth and help bring about inner  peace and harmony. 

Reiki is for everyone…. adults, babies, toddlers, children, elderly, and pets. 

Reiki can also be performed from long distance. 

On the day of your Reiki session, make sure to wear loose, comfortable clothing. 

You should also take off your jewelry. Always turn off cell phones, pagers, and other digital devices. 

It’s time to relax and let the problems of the world fade into oblivion!

When we meet, it is a good idea to ask any questions you may have about Reiki and go over your expectations for the Reiki session including areas on which you would like specific focus.  

Once you and I have talked about what to expect during the session, you will be asked get onto the table and under the cover. 

It is of utmost importance for you to feel safe and comfortable. Know that Reiki is entirely therapeutic.

Clothing is often a question in Reiki etiquette:  Unlike Massage, Reiki does not require you to undress. 

To remain silent or not:  During Reiki, you may wish to remain silent, or you may prefer to talk. I will usually let you take the lead whether to talk or not. I will provide feedback either during or after the Reiki session if anything comes to me that I think is important to share.

At the end of the Reiki session, I will step out allowing you to collect yourself, I will return with a glass of water and when you are ready, we can discuss your session.
