these images and symbols, but to acknowledge that they are
feelings that are hidden behind more than just the material
wants and needs, fears and doubts. They are in us and
between us, as feelings of Love and Compassion.

sion.It’s a dark autumn morning in the late preseason of the ski hill. My breath steaming in the cold, I am out atop the north hill along the 35-acre perimeter of the ski area. There are only faint sounds this early in the morning: the owl sanctuary off in the distance, the last of the season’s brittle leaves ratting on the high limbs and some nearing foot traffic. As I follow the trail’s arc upwards, I am met by a group of runners. They see my trail of smoke, the sage burning in my hand,[r1] and their heads are bobbing with several gazes. They’re loud with breathing and already prepping their lungs for my wake, while giving me a unified look of confusion.

Holy Fire Reiki and Shamanisum
As I sit her healing from my recent surgery, looking out in nature enjoying the birds and animals around me and admiring the beauty in the clouds passing by, I thought to myself what peace, what serenity, reminding me of how grateful I should be for the beautiful life that I have been given. It also brought back memories of a time not to long ago dealing with a bit of depression during the holiday seasons.
I remember wishing to myself that I could feel like the people around me, filled with joy during the holiday seasons throughout the year which seemed to be what was eluding me when I wanted it most.
